Marketing Solutions/Atlantica has organized a seminar for Atlantic Post and Beams, a Fredericton company that specializes in post and beam projects, which will be held at Sunbury Shores Arts and Nature Center on Sunday, August 12th. Dr. Nader Naderi, former Adjunct Professor of Wood Science and Technology at UNB and President of Atlantic Post & Beam Construction in Fredericton, will give a four-hour workshop from 1-5 p.m. at 139 Water Street in St. Andrews. A tour of local post and beam projects will be held afterwards time permitting.
Dr. Naderi’s workshop will be suited to amateur and professional builders interested in understanding the principles of post and beam construction as well as this technique’s advantages in terms of design flexibility, cost savings, energy conservation, load-bearing strength, and aesthetic considerations. He will also discuss suitable wood species, green building, and demonstrate the method’s applicability and costs related to projects such as carports, garages, gazebos, and guesthouses. Additionally, his presentation will compare post and beam construction with other building methods, such as log homes and conventional studded frame construction.

Communications Boot Camps
Marketing Solutions/Atlantica Inc. and Management Dimensions Inc., a Michigan-based strategic training and consulting firm, have joined forces to offer Communication Boot Camps (training workshops) to military, corporate and public sector clients. The 2 – 5 day intensive workshops are geared to improve teamwork and performance in high-stakes organizations by improving managers’ verbal, written, presentation, delegation and project communications skills. Dr. Bonnie Ellis is the lead instructor on the courses. She has 30 years of experience designing custom workshops in communication areas and training managers and executives in presentation and press relations skills. Her Ph.D. is in Non-Verbal Communications and Presentations from The Ohio State University.
